I am married with three children and we all currently live in Berkshire. I am a SEND Consultant and an ardent advocate for ensuring children and young people have the best possible chance of thriving and achieving their full potential.
In my 17 years of SEND experience, I’ve helped a wide range of children, young people and families to secure the right provision, to achieve the best outcomes.
After achieving my History BA degree at Brunel University, I started working as a Teaching Assistant in the SEN department at a mainstream school for boys. I then went on to complete my Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Roehampton University. I achieved Qualified Teacher Status, and my teaching career began in an inner London Academy as a History Teacher.
It didn’t take long for me to realise that my skillset was in working with children and young people with SEND. I moved into SEN teaching, eventually becoming a qualified SENCO in alternative provision. I also completed my Master’s Degree in Education at the Open University. I have since held roles within local authorities in the SEND Team as a case worker and as the Virtual School SENCO in an advisory role.
With this extensive personal and professional background in SEND, I decided to launch SEND Services as a way to help others who need someone to guide them through what can be a challenging process. Trying to balance life whilst looking after your child (for some of you multiple children) with additional needs, and then having to hold education providers, the local authority, government agencies and other professionals to account is no easy task. I am here to work with you and ensure you get the positive outcomes you want for yourself and your family.
